This temple is one of the seven wonders of the world. It was the first temple that was built of marble. It is about 105 m long and 50 m broad. Its front side is directed to the west as all Artemis temples. The temple was destroyed 7 times and built again. It's a nice story but you will be very disappointed when looking at it some 100 meters away from the information center. There is hardly any left of the "wonder of the world".
Maybe English people know a bit more about it because you can look at some columns of the Artemis temple at a museum in London. A major part of the temple was used to build the Church of Holy John in Selcuk and the rest was used for the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul. But like this the temple is really a unreal place with some stones and ruins. Nothing to talk about... very sad!
