Most hotels have safes in the rooms. Use them, even if it costs a little charge!

Hamam, the Turkish steam bath. Do not miss this experience. Hint: If you want to experience a steam bath as the Turkish people do, better resign the hotel's sauna. Take the "Dolmus-Bus" to the next city and go to the local Hamam. The difference: Test both of it! You will realize the difference by yourself.

Tips (Bahsis)

The Turkish people are a very, very friendly people. If you want to experience hospitality, you will not be disappointed in this country. When going to restaurants or demanding a service, don't be stingy regarding the tip! In comparison with Germany, Turkey is a poor land. In Turkey, you can hardly find the German "middle class". There are a lot of very poor people and few very rich people. This is one of the reasons for the facts that employees in stores don't a monthly salary but have to live on provisions; the income depends on the earned turnover. That's why you are addressed on the street, too. This is obvious in shopping malls and bazars. Please don't react aggressive. The people deserve to be treated friendly in spite of that. Just say "no, thank you" in a friendly and resolute way – you surely will be left alone.

Although most of the Turkish people at the Turkish Riviera are able to speak German or English, you should try to impress the people in you holiday country with a little bit of Turkish. This shows great interest and you earn a lot of respect this way. Learn some expressions of the Turkish language: Under "language", I have put together several examples!

By hotels, round trips are offered for a very high price. Better go to the next village and inform yourself there. You will see that you can save a lot of money outside of the hotels.
