At the coast of the Mediterranean Sea is a subtropical climate with hot, dry summers and mild, rainy winters. In the Anatolian highlands is continental climate (in summer with up to 40° C). In the mountainous East there can be snow for several months in winter time. In Istanbul and at the coast of the Black Sea there is moderate climate with hot summers but fresh sea wind and humid and cold winters. The North is the region where it rains most in Turkey. The best travel period for the Black Sea, Marmara Sea and Aegean Sea region is from June until September, for the Mediterranean Sea region it is from May until October. The table can be seen as a indication but of course there can be oscillation. For example in summer time you can be sure that there are often warmer degrees than stated in the table.
